Hi everyone!
It’s the middle of the quarter, so it’s time for a new Currently on my art post. This will likely be the last mid-quarter post, though.
Why? Because, to be entirely honest, there isn’t all that much to be told in these mid-quarterly posts anymore, especially when I’m running out of collection releases from my backlog. It’s become somewhat needless to make these posts when the end-of-quarter posts could easily tell all that without adding to the length too much. So, unless the very unlikely happens and something changes, there won’t be any more mid-quarter posts.
I have some more positive/less neutral news, though; I’ll Draw The Stars (on your glove, on your ribbon, on my masks) has finally finished the reworking phase and it’s finally time for me to start doing the final edits and releasing chapters one by one! So, if you’re not following me on AO3 – where I’ll be posting the story – yet, I strongly recommend you do it soon, because the first chapter will be coming soon! I’m not entirely certain about the posting schedule just yet, but if the universe doesn’t bring out the baseball bat yet again, I might even get the first chapter out next weekend!
In other news, I took part in Damon Wakes’s Premium Crayon and Kazoo Jam, with the interactive fiction piece This municipality is insufficiently large for the both of us. The voting has ended and it turns out I got the first place in overall score – albeit only because the two higher-ranking entries got shafted by itch.io’s adjustment to their lower number of voters, so when looking at raw scores I actually ranked third (hello impostor syndrome, my old friend). It took a while to collect my jaw from the floor when I saw that nevertheless because I sure wasn’t expecting to rank that high, haha!
It hasn’t been all fun, kazoos and games, though, since the job market is still a country-wide dumpster fire and junior developer roles are so few and far between that I’m considering changing fields now. Oh well. At least FFM 2026 is coming soon. The dopamine boost from that will be much needed – as will be the boost to adding stories to the Whoops Full Collection v. 2.0; that’s been dragging lately since I’m writing something that I’m not particularly inspired to write (meanwhile what I would be inspired to write right now is so far along the timeline that I can’t write it because I don’t have the slightest idea how, let alone if I arrive at that plot point when I actually get there lol). In the meantime, I’ve been enjoying the wave of new FFM generators Hydra has been releasing over tha last months; seeing those in my notifications is always a treat (if any hydra heads are reading this, hii!! ヾ(^ ∇ ^). ).
Welp, that’s all for now. Let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:
- The Fate’s Way: Chapter 90 is still in writing. I’m still very much not close to beating my writer’s block. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I still haven’t found the time (and energy) to revise another chapter, though. Maybe soon, now that IDTS has shifted to a different phase, which leaves more time and energy open for other things… or maybe I won’t find the time yet again. We’ll see.
- Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done. I’ve been thinking about resuming this project since I do want to finish the translation but so far I haven’t had the drive to go for it, mainly because of the reworking needs. Maybe sometime in 2026?
- I’ll Draw The Stars: I’ve finally finished reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I researched for my master’s thesis and addressed all the comments I left during the reworking phase. Now it’s time to start making final edits and releasing the chapters one by one! I’ve written 4210 words in this quarter, which will probably be the last big-ish number for GRM, at least unless I run into some bigger addition that I want to and can make. Let’s gooo!
- Whoops: I’ve been writing the story and adding worldbuilding bits that have been popping up in my head. I now have five stories plus The Zeldron Urrang Experience ready, even more worldbuilding done, one story in writing and a bunch of both backstory and current-story-arc stories on the TODO list as well. The upcoming FFM 2026 hopefully will help with tackling that TODO list and get the release of the next Full Collection closer.
- Gaming: Habitica keeps on going. I completed the base game of The Planet Crafter after playing its demo and also played through Solarpunk‘s demo. That’s all on the gaming front.
- Other projects: I’m working on the combined The Gauntlet & assorted stories collection. I also started to draft the second chapter of my little SMTV fanfic In the dark but it’s very much in the beginning for now.
- Reading: I’ve read some fanfiction, not really anything else.
- Personal life: Nothing aside from endlessly continuing job hunting.
That’s all for this post. Thanks for reading and take care!
