Challenge: Write a 369er (3 interconnected 69-word stories) with the theme evolution of a (real-life or fictional) myth.
Since Beyari and Steirdrar’s world is compelling me to keep writing about them, for this challenge I decided to write a story on the myth of the Night-Lights, beings who (according to the myth) watch over Beyari’s home planet as part of the planet’s moons.
I have no idea how far this mess that I got into by starting to write about these two fools on day 1 will go, but we’ll see, I guess. I have a bad feeling that I’m going to have to keep writing their story beyond FFM, judging from how much worldbuilding I did into my notes for and adjacent to this story and how much stuff there’s going on in my head about them.
Send help?
They were not called Night-Lights, back in the earliest days of Pryzis. They were Pryz’ozlen, masters of the gifts of the powers that be. They protected the Pryzis and Pryzia.
When they grew old, they started accepting worship from the masses and trained those who demonstrated potential in any of the gifts. People gathered around the gifted and by half-accident formed the tribes that preceded the clans of today.
~~~
When the Pryz’ozlen died, they formed the moons over Pryzia. Later on, when people pointed out that the moons were there before the Pryzis, it was said that each Pryz’ozlen became one with a moon. Either way, the six masters watched over Pryzia, the gifts growing increasingly prevalent and concentrated to individual tribes, each of them following the teachings of the individual Pryz’ozle who held their tribe’s prevalent gift.
~~~
Over time, the concreteness of the Pryz’ozlen fades from public knowledge, turning them into inconcrete deities. Shia-fen, Night-Lights, they become called, beings represented by the six moons of Pryzia. Each a master of a gift of powers that be, bestowing their gift upon the clans, sometimes even gathering together to bless someone with all the gifts, making an Inzin.
Worship lessens but never disappears thanks to the Inzins’ existence.
this world just gets cooler and cooler. love it!!!

Wow, so creative! I really like this world you’ve been creating :) Also I know the feeling when a random FFM story accidentally becomes an entire world over time, that’s exactly how my Miriam Griffinstein stories happened XD

I’m not sending help. I’m enjoying this too much.
Very cool myth! It feels magical, and I liked seeing how it changed (or, rather, how belief changed) over time.

Lol, honestly, with how this week has gone, I have a feeling not even Hydra themselves can save me from this story I unleashed XD
Thank you very much! :D

I’m not sure the Hydra saves anyone. But I get what you mean.
