FFM 2024 1: Arrival at Ink Town

No prompts used. This is a direct continuation to [Sept20] Tribble Month 8: Sense of Pride, which is a part of the Lost in Starlight world.

Ink Town turned out to be surprisingly bustling for a place called a town. It was more like a city nowadays thanks to Inky Academy’s success, not that anyone had apparently bothered to change the name beyond adding ink to it. The postcards and images I had seen of it had not conveyed such business; they had always had that town atmosphere to them.

Ria was scratching her chin, looking around for a sewer’s shop. “You said someone in your village has a cousin in Inky Academy, right?”
“Yup,” I said. “What about it?”
“Do you remember anything about magic-augmented sewing being in the curriculum?”
“Uh…” I tried to remember, but all I could remember was the child flaunting the cousin. “No. I don’t think it ever came up in a conversation.”
Ria hummed. “I think it might be a good idea to head there first once we’ve rested to see if there’s someone who does that in the area. Not that a regular sewer wouldn’t be just as good, it’s just that magic-augmented would be faster. The broken clothes are starting to itch.”
“Even though they’re not exactly on you right now?” I asked.
“It’s a metaphysical itch. It’s hard to explain if you haven’t experienced it.” Ria tapped her lips. “Plus, if we do find someone who does magic augmentation on clothing, I could consider an upgrade in exchange for insider information or something.” She shrugged. “We’ll see. But resting first. You look like you’re going to keel over pretty soon if you don’t get somewhere to sleep.”
I rubbed my neck, letting out a sheepish laugh. “Is it that obvious?”
Ria smirked. “I’m just pretty good at recognizing the signs of exhaustion by now.”

    1. No worries, both characters are getting the rest they need, plus the Ink Town story arc won’t feature combat anytime soon so there’s that as well. More clothing stuff and less fighting! :D
