Hi everyone!
This quarter has reached its end, so it’s time for another Currently on my art post. Not all that much to be said here, though.
It’s been fairly uneventful for me aside from taking part in the Spaceship Game Jam at the end of August. It was the first time I took part in a game jam in a team of only people I didn’t know beforehand (in all my previous jams, I’ve teamed up with friends or worked alone). It was quite some chaos and I wound up being a jack of all trades, doing something in literally every area except audio (aside from putting the audio from our audio person into the game, but that was more a programming thing than an audio thing). It was fun, though. Our game, Roger Rover’s Trash Day, is available on itch.io: https://mirathael.itch.io/roger-the-rovers-trash-day
The portfolio page for it will come later, at some point, when I get around to doing it. I was originally planning on finally making the portfolio page while working on this post but I ended up getting a cold last weekend and am under the weather now, so I’m in power saving mode until I get better.
In other news, I finally got around to re-installing EndeavourOS since my previous install became kinda broken for some reason. It was a hassle since I picked some wrong settings during the first re-install and had to re-re-install the thing (making me regret not finishing my morning coffee before getting into OS reinstallation business that morning). I’m planning on re-installing my Windows 10 too to get rid of all the junk that’s accumulated there over 4 years in preparation for turning it into an as-offline-as-possible gaming OS because I’m not “upgrading” to Windows 11 (screw that and the TPM requirement). Apparently, Windows 10’s 1-year security update extension is now free for EU users but there seems to a catch (because of course there’s a catch of some sort), so we’ll see if I’ll enroll my system into that or not. I’m also planning on doing a complete wipe on my old laptop and putting an up-to-date Linux on it, although I have yet to figure out what exactly I want to do with that system, so I haven’t fully decided on the distro just yet, only that it’s likely not going to be a rolling release distro.
That’s all that I had to tell about what’s been going on. Now, have a look at the Q3 stats:

It’s kinda funny how the poorer progress with TFW and improved progress with IDTS come close to canceling each other out. Can’t say I’m surprised about these, though; a lot of my writing time and energy has gone to worldbuilding for Whoops, so not that much has happened with my older active projects.
Let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:
- The Fate’s Way: Chapter 89 is in writing. I’m still not particularly close to beating my writer’s block here but I am making okay-ish progress. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I haven’t found the time to revise another chapter since the previous post, though.
- Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done.
- I’ll Draw The Stars: I’m reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I researched for my master’s thesis. I’m currently working on chapter 84 out of (currently) 89. I wrote 3180 words in this quarter; it’s still very slow progress.
- Whoops: I’ve been working on worldbuilding. For now, I’m almost done with that; I’m currently checking and properly organizing all the files as well as adding pronunciation guides for just about all of the names (and because I apparently wanted to frown at my screen a lot, I went as far as incorporating the International Phonetic Alphabet into that instead of just relying on approximate phonetic spellings – although that probably is actually a very good idea since English is wacky, I don’t speak it natively and there’s only so much that Scrivener’s text-to-speech can do to help me with nailing the approximations). I’ve finished editing the continuation flashfic that I drafted at the beginning of August but I have yet to decide where I want to post it; while AO3 would be a good idea for organizing the flashfics, the idea of handling tens of wiki pages there as well feels a bit too daunting. Another option is posting PDFs and EPUBs here on this website like I do with World Collections since larger updates to those would be much simpler (and far less prone to copypasta errors than something like AO3 chapters). We’ll see what I’ll do when I’m done with the worldbuilding stuff.
- Gaming: Habitica keeps on going. I’ve played Desktop Survivors 98, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Bongo Cat (as much as you can play an idle game lol). I’m done with all of those four, so now I’m going to switch games (once I’ve got my Windows 10 re-installed and set up)… I’ll probably go back to Yakuza 0 again since a new Yakuza Kiwami game was announced recently and I really should get on with the series.
- Other projects: I haven’t found time to work on my FFM 2025 collection, Whoops. Once I am finally done with it, it’ll be time to go back to Tribble Month collections.
- Reading: I’ve read some Star Wars and Shin Megami Tensei V fanfiction, not much else.
- Personal life: Nothing aside from continuing unsuccessful job hunting and Spaceship Game Jam.
That’s all for this brief-ish post. Thanks for reading and take care!
