Hi everyone!
This quarter has come to its end, so it’s time for the first statistics of 2025. Although, since this quarter has been a limbo of sorts, they aren’t anything to write home about.
Welp, like I said in the previous post, I’ve been looking for work and, unfortunately, due to the job market’s state being insanely bad right now, I have been unsuccessful. I did manage to score one interview but even though I feel like I did well, there were applicants with more experience and they got selected for the job. So, now what? Well, I need to find something to code to get more experience to show off while I look for the next positions to apply for. I’ve got a couple of ideas I’ve been thinking of going for but with the previous week throwing multiple monkey wrenches at me, I didn’t find the time and energy to give them the needed consideration.
Honestly, it’s been one hell of a dumpster fire of a quarter and a lot really needs to change or else I’m going to waste even more of the year in this routineless limbo. I’m not entirely sure yet how I’m going to go about it aside from building weekly to-do lists, but I’m going to put my mind to breaking out of this limbo and starting to get things done again.
That’s all I have to tell this time. Let’s look at the Q1 2025 stats, shall we?
Honestly, seeing just how far down my progress with IDTS fell does sting a bit. Hopefully it’ll get better in the next quarter; I’d love to start getting that story out during this year. We’ll see how things go, I guess.
Now, let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:
- The Fate’s Way: Chapter 87 is in writing. I’m still not particularly close to beating my writer’s block here but I am getting some semi-solid progress. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I still haven’t found the time to revise any more chapters.
- Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done.
- A Wandering Aura: On indefinite hiatus. I’m considering discontinuing this since I’d like to dedicate whatever hypothetical energy I might regain to dealing with Lyokostar rather than this.
- I’ll Draw The Stars: I’m reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I researched for my master’s thesis. I’m currently working on chapter 80 out of (currently) 89. I wrote 4288 words in this quarter; it’s been very slow progress, as the stats showed.
- Gaming: Habitica keeps on going. I’ve also continued playing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance; I’m close to completing it now, woo! I’ve played some Zen of Sudoku too.
- Other projects: I should be progressing my Tribble Month 2020 collection and 2024 World Collections but they’ve been on the procrastination pile for this quarter. I’m going to try to work on at least the TM 2020 collection during the next quarter.
- Reading: Not much, really. I’ve read SMTV fanfiction instead of tackling my ever-growing backlog. Whoops.
- Personal life: Nothing aside from unsuccessful job hunting.
