Hi everyone!
The year is at its end so it’s time for the final Currently on my art post of 2024. This time, it’s time to check how this year went and what I have in mind for the upcoming year.
It’s been a year full of work, that’s for sure. Finishing my master’s thesis took way longer than expected but I am glad to announce that it has been graded (got the second-best grade) and I have graduated! Woo! It’s weird not to be a student anymore but it is also a relief to finally done with it all. So, what now? I wasn’t able to get a job before graduation so I’m currently jobless and sending out applications, so nothing much to be said for now. In the meantime, I’ll work on my projects as usual and try to get the Tribble Month collections done.
Overall, since I’ve been so focused on my master’s thesis, it’s been a relatively uneventful year. Using Draft2Digital to release my FFM 2023 and 2024 collections, switching operating systems twice, getting into book scanning, diving deeper and deeper into the Megami Tensei rabbit hole by getting into Shin Megami Tensei games and getting my hands on very niche Japanese Megami Tensei media… While things did happen, they were on a far smaller scale than last year. Will the next year be more eventful? We’ll see!
Anyhow, I don’t have anything more to say especially since I haven’t gotten the 2024 World Collections done (that’ll be a job for January), so let’s check out the stats, starting with Q4 stats.

A little mixed, funnily enough. TFW has had major percentual shift up (not that it has done much on the wordcount side since I keep struggling with a writer’s block with it). IDTS has had major progress, although I have been giving it less time in December, which did affect the wordcount to some extent.

Looking at the whole picture, I’m surprised I got so close to similar numbers with IDTS. I expected there to be a far more major difference. TFW, on the other hand… Can’t say I’m surprised, considering the writer’s block. Maybe it’ll pick up next year? We’ll see.
Now that the statistics are done, it’s time to look at the todos I put up on my previous end-of-the-year post. How does it look now that the year is over and it’s time to see how well I did? The ones struck through are done, while underlined are in progress. Bolded words are comments.
Releasing the FFM 2023 collection- Being more organized about chores
- Bringing more variety to my daily diet
- Getting Tribble Month 2020 collection done
Finishing my master’s thesis and thus degreeHoarding data- Get a job after graduating
- Properly starting to work out
- Doing something about my pile of speedpaint footage (even if it’s just scrapping some of it)
Tackling my TBR pile- Watching stuff on my TBW list
Playing some games on my TBP list- Working on Jedova Wang’s reference
- Learning Japanese
- Improving my backup system to use my NAS better (does require getting more space on it)
Hoarding more data
Welp, it didn’t go as well as I hoped it would. A lot of the stuff is a work in progress because the master’s thesis ate up most of the year, leaving far less time and energy to getting anything else major done. Oh well, maybe things’ll be better this year when I’m free from that. Better luck next year again? Anyhow, here’s my todo list for the next year.

- Clean up my backups because they’ve gotten messy
- Getting some long-time TODOs off my TODO list on Habitica
- Hoarding more data
We’ll see how this goes. I’m not keeping my hopes up due to my track record, haha.
Now that that’s done with, let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:
- The Fate’s Way: Chapter 86 still is in writing. I’m still not particularly close to beating my writer’s block here but I am getting some semi-solid progress. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I still haven’t found the time to revise any more chapters.
- Off-DA projects: My master’s thesis has been graded and I have graduated!
- Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done.
- A Wandering Aura: On indefinite hiatus.
- I’ll Draw The Stars: I’m reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I researched for my master’s thesis. I’m currently working on chapter 77 out of (currently) 89. I wrote 135578 words in this quarter.
- Gaming: Habitica keeps on going. Pokémon Masters EX, on the other hand, got dropped because I got fed up with the direction the game was taking. I’ve also played a ton of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance since I got it on sale on Steam, and I’m going to continue being very deep in that particular nook of the Megami Tensei rabbit hole until further notice.
- Other stuff: I’m working on my Tribble Month 2020 collection. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it out and other TM collections before the next FFM. I also read Vows & Ruins by Helen Scheuerer.
- Personal life: Not all that much aside from graduating and job hunting.
That’s for all this update. Thanks for reading, take care and happy new year!
