Challenge: Roll a 6-sided die. Get a random page from a wiki decided by the first roll (1-2 for WikiArt + visual prompt, 3-4 for TV Tropes + a trope to be used and 5-6 for wikiHow + as the title of the story). On the second roll, determine what the third roll selects (1-2 for POV, 3-4 for how many characters must be in the story and 5-6 for wordcount).
I rolled 5, which got me How to Remove Sap from Clothes as the result, then rolled 1, for which I rolled another 1, which got me first person as POV.
I sighed. Of course, of fucking course, I just had to run into the one bottle that was gathering sap from a birch in the entire goddamn yard and have it drop on my brand new coat.
“I told you I shouldn’t go out on Friday the 13th,” I snapped at my brother.
My brother tsked. “Well, if you were so worried about something happening, why weren’t you watching where you were going?” Before I could retaliate somehow (not sure how; he was right, as little as I wanted to admit it), he shoved his phone at me. “Here’s a wikiHow article on how to remove sap from clothes. I know from experience that the first method works. There’s rubbing alcohol in the computer maintenance kit. You’re welcome.”
I read the instructions over and gave the phone back. “Thanks.” Then I headed inside; if I was quick, I could get the sap off without having to try to stuff the entire coat in the freezer and just get away with rubbing it away with the rubbing alcohol.
Mom wasn’t going to like the fact that my new coat had to be washed immediately, though. Shit.
