Currently on my art: Whoops release

Hi everyone!

The last quarter of the year is at its midway point, so it’s time for another Currently on my art post! I don’t have all that much to say, but let’s see what has happened.

First of all, in case you missed it, I released the first Full Collection of my Whoops project on this very website, advertising it with the release of the next continuation flashfic Touch-Starved. It has all the stories written so far as well as all a databank filled with the worldbuilding I’ve been working on. I’m now working on some continuation fics that I need to get out of my head now (with at least one being over the flash fiction wordcount limit) before adding some backstory and action pieces to the timeline. When will the next iteration of The Full Collection be released and how much more will it include? I don’t have the slightest idea!

Otherwise, it’s been pretty uneventful. My job search has kicked up once again as it’s the time of the year when IT jobs start to open up for applications but so far still no success at getting a job. I also bought a wireless weather station since it was on sale and I had been thinking about getting one. Mostly it’s been great but I am a bit miffed that it only measures temperatures up to -20 degrees Celsius since that’s a tad too little for the area of Finland I live in (I found this out only from the manual since the box said nothing about the temperature ranges and I just assumed that it’s perfectly suitable for Finnish conditions because, you know, it’s being sold in Finland). Oh well. I’d have to pay multiple times more to get a weather station that does measure temperatures beyond -20 degrees and has all the same features, so I’m just going to live with it for now, maybe get a second weather station just for the outside temperatures or just check my phone’s weather app when the monitor says it’s -20 degrees. We’ll see once it gets that cold.

That’s all I wanted to talk about. Let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:

  • The Fate’s Way: Chapter 89 is in writing. I’m still not particularly close to beating my writer’s block here but I am making okay-ish progress. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I haven’t found the time to revise another chapter since the previous post, though.
  • Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done.
  • I’ll Draw The Stars: I’m reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I researched for my master’s thesis. I’m currently working on chapter 86 out of (currently) 89. I’ve written 2013 words in this quarter; it’s still very slow progress.
  • Whoops: I’ve finished working on worldbuilding for now and resumed writing the story, as well as released the first Full Collection of it, as discussed above. I ended up going with releasing just EPUBs on this website to keep things less cluttered.
  • GamingHabitica keeps on going. I’ve played Yakuza Kiwami and a bit of Melody’s Escape lately.
  • Other projects: I’ve started working on my FFM 2025 collection, Whoops, but it’s still very much in progress. Once I’m finally done with it, it’ll be time to go back to Tribble Month collections.
  • Reading: I’ve read Kirjontaa niille, joita v*tuttaa by Mari Hyypiä (which translates to Embroidery for those who are p*ssed off) and some fanfiction, not much else.
  • Personal life: Nothing aside from continuing job hunting and visiting my parents.

That’s all for this post. Thanks for reading and take care!
