Hi everyone!
It’s the halfway point of this year’s first quarter, so it’s time for this year’s first Currently on my art post. There is not that much to be said, but I’ll post an update nevertheless.
Like I discussed in my previous post, I dropped out of working life as the year changed to fully focus on finishing my master’s thesis. So far, the thesis is progressing well, with the data gathering finally progressing properly again. There’s not much else to say about that; I’m aiming to get the whole thesis finished in May but we’ll see what curveballs life throws in the way of that.
In other news, I took part in the Finnish Game Jam and Global Game Jam again last month, this time as an audio designer more than a programmer as my team wound up having four programmers and zero audio people. It was a bit of a mayhem with our attempts at using Godot failing due to poorer-than-expected C# support and having to switch to Unity in addition to doing the whole thing hybrid, but it was fun overall and I like the end result. I also ended up making a relevant meme during the jam. I figured I might as well include it here.
Since it’s been uneventful aside from the super freezing temperatures, that’s all I have to say about what’s happened in the weeks between the previous post and today. Let’s see how things are going with my projects, as per my project widget:
- The Fate’s Way: Chapter 83 is in editing. I still need to redraw the regular Alyssa and also Alyssa’s friends and family and the other important people, like Matti, someday. I need to revise chapters, still haven’t gotten around to doing that at all.
- Off-DA projects: My master’s thesis is progressing faster now. I’m somewhere past 50% done with gathering data.
- Lyokostar: The second part of story 7 is still waiting for alphareading, but that’s a thing for once its indefinite hiatus ends. This story is in need of massive reworking, so it’s going to take a long time to finish when I do find the time and energy to resume it. References need to be done.
- A Wandering Aura: On indefinite hiatus.
- I’ll Draw The Stars: I’m reworking to add a considerably big plot bunny into the fic and lots of smaller plot bunnies in the form of the background characters I’ve been researching for my master’s thesis. I’m currently working on chapter 10 out of 80. I’ve written 34462 words so far in Q1.
- Gaming: Habitica and Pokémon Masters EX keep on going. I’ve also played the remaster of Persona 5 Royal for my master’s thesis as well as played Placid Plastic Duck Simulator and revisited Ghost of Tsushima a bit since I have access to the PS5 version now.
- Other stuff: I have worked on the FFM 2023 collection a bit but it’s very much a work in progress. I have been reading fanfics mostly although I also read through The Way of the Househusband: The Gangster’s Guide to Housekeeping.
- Personal life: Just master’s thesis stuff and a game jam, that’s all.
