The day’s prompt: Vanilla or Chocolate?
“You’re so vanilla,” they used to say. I never understood why; I always felt that I was more like chocolate. When I did tell them that, they would look at each other and one of them would say, “My point exactly.”
It’s been five years since high school and I still don’t understand what they meant by that. What did the most basic ice cream flavors have to do with, well, anything that isn’t a dessert?
